NoSQL databases have been gaining popularity for use in applications. They include features such as simple API, scalable, schema-free, and easily replicated. NoSQL databases are becoming more commonly used not just for storing large sets of data but also for applications with complex relationships. This presentation will cover what exactly NoSQL means and how its being used. 

It will introduce MongoDB, a high-performance, scalable NoSQL database that is quickly becoming a popular database for use with web applications. MongoDB's features include atomic modifiers, document-oriented storage, auto-sharding, and much more. Also covered will be examples of using embedded documents, querying and updating with MongoDB, and scaling with MongoDB.

Ryan Fischer is the Founder of 20spokes focusing on helping businesses grow on the web with innovation and technology. He has over 10 years of experience with development for the web mixed in with startups and young growth companies. He has yet to wear a tie for work and strives to continue this mission. He is continuously learning and exploring new innovations in technology and is a strong believer that there is no one way to solve a problem.
